This recipe for haleem cooked with beef and lentils, is the ultimate slow-cooked wonder. It is a Pakistani favourite full of gentle spices and warm comfort. Haleem gets its lovely uniform sticky consistency from constant stirring. You will enjoy the aromas it emits during the hypnotic cooking experience. You can also prepare it using chicken, however the traditional dish is prepared using beef as the main ingredient.

1/2 cup Barley Or (Wheat) جو یا گندم
1/4 cup Rice برنج
2 tablespoons Split Red Lentil دال سرخ
2 tablespoons Yellow Split Peas دال نخود
2 tablespoons Urad Daal دال سفید
2 tablespoons Toovar Daal (pigeon peas) دال نخود
2 tablespoons Mung Beans ماش سبز
5 cups Water آب
1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder پودر زردچوبه

1/4 cup Oil روغن
1 large Onion پیاز
500g Lamb meat گوشت گوسفند
5 Cloves of Garlic سیر
1 teaspoon Ginger paste زنجبیل
1/2 tablespoon Turmeric powder پودر زردچوبه
1 tablespoon Paprika powder پودر پاپریک
1 tablespoon Coriander powder پودر گشنیز
1/2 tablespoon Black pepper مورچ سیاه
1 tablespoon Cumin powder پودر زیره
2 medium Tomatoes بادنجان رومی
1 tablespoon Salt نمک

1 teaspoon Garam masala powder گرم مصالح
2 cups water آب
2 tablespoons Butter مسکه
1 Onion پیاز
4 tablespoons Oil روغن
Ginger زنجبیل
Fresh Parsley or Coriander
